Introduction

Acid rain is one of the consequences of air pollution. When any fuel is burned, various chemicals are released into the air.
Some of these gases in particular nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide reacts with moisture in the air and become sulfuric acid, nitric acid and hydrochloric acid. These acids are deposited in the clouds. The rain produced by these clouds, tiny particles containing acid, is known as "acid rain."
That is why in this research will analyze in detail the consequences of acid rain by experts in biology, health science, economist, and chemical and others scholars on this issue today.

The biologist and acid rain.

Aquatic and terrestrial animals, trees and plants and even human infrastructure suffer the damaging effects of acid rain. It is the fault of man, which emits nitrogen oxide and sulfur dioxide from their factories, power plants, cars, and more.
The effects of acid rain can be devastating, since the acidification of rivers, lakes and seas hamper aquatic life, to wear and death of plant life in forests.
To make matters worse, when acid rain falls, dragging the acidified water with natural soil fertilizer, which gives a total impoverishment, which ends stressing the plants, since they removed the minerals and essential ions, thus producing more carnage.
We understand the importance of water in the world and the importance of biodiversity? The water is so important in the world who deserve and need protection, let us take care says expert in biology so that care for the life of every human.

The chemistry and acid rain

Acid rain is a physical-chemical events of environmental degradation in the atmosphere that begins and ends in the aquatic environment. As part of the industrial civilization and technological development creates acid rain, which is the precipitation as rain, snow, sleet, hail or fog that contains a high concentration of sulfuric acid (H2SO4), nitric (HNO3) and carbon (H2CO3), whose pH is below 5.5 and 5.6.
The evaporation of water from oceans and transpiration from plants generate pure distilled water or yet to reach the atmosphere, combines with carbon dioxide forms carbonic acid. But the most aggressive form of acid rain is carried out with sulfur oxides (SOx) and nitrogen oxides (NOx).
In most large cities like Mexico City and the metropolitan area has increased air pollution, exhaust product of millions of internal combustion vehicles and poor quality of gasoline (reformulated with less amount of tetraethyl lead .)
On the other hand, the media considered to ozone (O3) as a pollutant of photochemical reactions terminal, when it is one of the causes of the formation of acid rain, ie much higher ozone acid rain .
It is estimated that worldwide are released into the atmosphere 200 million tons of SO2 per year (mainly from the refineries and power generating industry). This helped the Azcapotzalco refinery, and still do the two power plants of the Federal Electricity Commission.
The formation of acid rain starts with emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide into the atmosphere, precursor gases released by automobiles, chimneys of factories, industries such as smelters, refineries and power plants that burn fossil fuels like coal and oil. By chemical reactions, these gases are transformed and combined with water vapor in clouds to form sulfuric and nitric acids. When precipitation falls from such clouds are highly acidic, with the value of the PH (potential hydrogen) of 5.6 or lower.
Angus Smith English chemist who in 1872 was named the "acid rain" to such destructive rainfall. However, it was in the Stockholm Conference in 1972, where he spoke for the first time that cause deterioration.

Healt Scientist

Acid rain is caused by the fumes and gases emitted by automobiles and industries. These fumes and gases emitted usually contain chemical elements that are mixed with water vapor, causing rain contains sulfuric acid. On the other hand, if the gases containing nitrogen, then mixed with water vapor, rain will fall with nitric acid.

The consequences of acid rain are manifold.
Among these effects is the presence of metals in the food chain, causing bones, liver and kidneys begin to accumulate lead.
If acid rain continues and we do nothing urgent about it, then over time we will witness the disappearance of our forests, with all that that implies.

Conclusion

Acid rain causes major environmental impacts. Some ecosystems are more susceptible than others to acidification.
There is also incontrovertible evidence of harm caused to freshwater aquatic ecosystems, where plant and animal communities have been affected, to the extent that fish populations have been reduced or even extinguished.
One of the great dangers of acid rain is that its effect on a particular ecosystem, besides being able to be serious, it is highly unpredictable.
Man's products, monuments and buildings are just as susceptible to such rainfall as well as living beings. Many ruins have disappeared or are in the process of doing so.
Become conscious of everything that affects the fact pollute the environment
